A remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been in the rumour mill for a while now, with reports claiming that the project is being developed y Singapore-based studio Virtuos, and recent developments flared up those rumours once again.
Activity on Twitter by Metal Gear Solid voice actor and singer Donna Burke suggested that she was working on a new rendition of the Metal Gear Solid 3 main theme, “Snake Eater”, potentially for a remake, but it seems that’s only half-right.
In a follow-up tweet, Mason Lieberman β a senior composer at Tencent and director of the project Burke tweeted about β quickly quashed rumours, explaining that while he and Burke are working on the Snake Eater theme, it’s not related a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.
The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake nonetheless remains a hotly anticipated title- or its announcement does, at any rate. Reports have claimed that Konami intended on revealing the game at E3 2023, but with the event having been cancelled, there’s no word on how those plans may have changed. Recently, it was claimed that the game was targeting a 2024 launch.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but to avoid misinformation getting out there: We are not working on Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake π We're also not working for Tencent (before THAT conspiracy takes hold!).
Yes, we're working on Snake Eater. Yes, it sounds incredible. TBA! https://t.co/fZ0Qf9OugT
