Co-op shooter The First Descendant has gotten a new trailer during The Game Awards 2023, announcing a Summer 2024 release window for the upcoming title. Check out the new trailer, which primarily showcases the game’s general themes and mood with a pre-rendered cutscene, below.

As the trailer would indicate, co-op is a big factor in The First Descendant. The game is a looter shooter, and will involve players finding and equipping progressively better loot as they make their way through the game’s story. The trailer also showcases the game’s focus on verticality with the size of some of the monsters the characters in the trailer have to face.

Players in The First Descendant are equipped with a grappling hook that lets them constantly stay on the move as they scale the level, as well as take advantage of enemy weak points and blind spots.

Originally released in South Korea, The First Descendant‘s Summer 2024 release window is for the western release of the game. It will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For more details, here are 10 things we learned from its PC beta last year.
