Over the last year, multiple insiders have been responsible for no shortage of leaks about a supposed Silent Hill reboot, and speculation has been rife (and relentless) all this time. Most recently, with Bloober Team saying that they’ve been working on a horror game for over a year “with a very famous gaming publisher”, speculation arose again that perhaps they were developing a new entry in Konami’s beloved horror series. But it seems that’s not the only Silent Hill report we have for today.

In their report talking about Bloober Team’s aforementioned horror game, VGC state that according to their sources that Konami have outsourced Silent Hill to a “prominent” Japanese developer, and that this game is going to be quite different from what one usually expects to see from a Silent Hill title. This game is allegedly going to be revealed this Summer.

As VGC points out in it report, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Bloober Team aren’t working on a Silent Hill game. Some of the earliest insider leaks about Silent Hill’s revival said that Konami had been in talks with multiple developers for multiple new entries in the series, so it’s possible that two Silent Hill games are in development at two different studios simultaneously.

Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka’s name has come up quite often in all the leaks over the months, with him allegedly being attached with a series revival as well. Interestingly enough, Yamaoka said that his next game, which will be revealed in the Summer, is “the one you’re hoping to hear about.”

It should be interesting to see how this pans out- or if anything even comes of this. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for any and all updates.
