While Studio Zero dropped tons of new details for Metaphor: ReFantazio, from the Archetype Lineages and Synthesis to functions like Retry Battle, it also has a playable demo at Atlus Fes. Available until June 9th at Bellesalle Akihabara, Tokyo, attendees can go hands-on with the title, experiencing the opening. Check it out below, courtesy of Famitsu.
As such, the beginning is pretty tame in combat mechanics, with the protagonist meeting up with Strohl, one of the party members, and venturing into a dungeon. The duo work together to eliminate enemies, leveraging the Fast Combat system to gain advantage before fights, utilize magic and more.
Of course, when a boss shows up, it’s time for the protagonist to awaken their inner Persona – er, Archetype. In this case, it’s Seeker, an all-round Lineage. The demo ends there, but expect even more gameplay in the months leading up to its release.
Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
