Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 5 and its multiplayer component, Grand Theft Auto Online, would be launching for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 on November 11th. Grand Theft Auto Online will be available standalone for all three platforms but PS5 players can obtain it free for the first three months after release (offer ends in February 2022). A Rockstar representative also told GameSpot that various improvements could be expected.

“The new generation versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades, and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.” More “fun surprises” will be coming on Grand Theft Auto 3’s 20th anniversary, namely October 22nd, with some aimed at Grand Theft Auto Online players. At the very least, there will be updates this Summer that allow for leveraging the current-gen consoles’ power.

In the meantime, PlayStation Plus members on PS4 will receive GTA$1,000,000 at the beginning of each month until the PS5 version releases. This will provide a nice head-start when Grand Theft Auto Online launches in November. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.
