It seems FromSoftware’s intermittent partnership with Sony is going to continue. A new rumour claims that the developer, who has in the years past partnered with PlayStation make exclusives such as Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne, is working on another new PlayStation exclusive.

The rumour originates from Dealer Gaming, and was corroborated by industry insider @Shpeshal_Nick. Both have had a solid track records with PlayStation leaks, and most recently, leaked details on Ghost of Tsushima’s Iki Island expansion prior to its announcement.

The FromSoftware game in question is not Bloodborne 2, before you ask. Allegedly, it’s a new IP, but it’s still going to be a Soulslike title, so there’s that. It should be interesting to see how development progresses now that SIE Japan Studio has been shut down, seeing as the studio provided development support for all of FromSoftware’s previous PlayStation-exclusive games, including Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Deracine.

Interestingly enough, Dealer Gaming also states that there’s going to be a new State of Play show around August 19. Another recent report claimed that the next State of Play was scheduled for September, so there’s some conflicting information. It seems that this part of the leak is something that @Shpeshal_Nick isn’t corroborating.

Of course, it goes without saying that this is all still unconfirmed, unofficial information, so until such time we hear something from Sony, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt. We’ll keep you updated should we learn anything else though, so stay tuned.
