Destiny 2 Warmind Will Increase Grind to Max Power Level, Changes Clan Engram Levels

Soft cap Power will be obtainable through general play but hitting the hard cap will take longer.

Destiny 2 Warmind

When Destiny 2 launched, it received criticism for max Power Level being too easy to obtain by grinding Public Events and not obtaining these from Raids or Nightfalls. It also didn’t help that the loot in both those activities wasn’t exactly stellar.

With the release of its Warmind DLC, Bungie is making substantial changes to the Power Level system. Senior d esigner Daniel Auchenpaugh revealed that there will be a soft and hard cap on Power Levels – the former is easy to obtain from just about any source and caps out at 340 Power. The hard cap will be 380 Power and can only be reached by completing weekly Milestones and other activities. Trials of the Nine and Raids will offer larger increases in Power rewards.

Though you can obtain Power increases from Clan Engrams, they’ll drop at an average of 15 Power higher than your current best equipment. After hitting the soft cap, they’ll only offer 1 or 2 Power Level increases. The objective is to make it easier for players to catch up with their clan mates who are more active.

Finally, the grind from 370 to 380 Power Level will be fairly slow. You can expect to move from 370 to 380 in the same time as going from 340 to 370. Being at 370 Power will ensure that endgame content isn’t too tough for players while 380 Power is a more significant accomplishment.
