Destiny 2 Sandbox Lead Addresses Solar 3.0 Feedback, No Merging of Aspects Planned

Bungie's Kevin Yanes says the team is reading feedback and "thinking of iterations to Solar 3.0" for Season of the Haunted.

Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted

Destiny 2’s Solar subclass rework, dubbed Solar 3.0, has been live for some time and the “wow” factor of the reveal trailer has worn off. While many players are finding the new Sunbreaker to be incredibly strong, Warlocks are feeling short-changed from removed abilities and underwhelming mechanics.

Forbes’ Paul Tassi suggested the merging of air Aspects for the class and the introduction of a new third Aspect. Sandbox discipline lead Kevin Yanes responded with: “While were totally reading feedback and thinking of iterations to Solar 3.0 (this season) we don’t expect there to be ANY merging or introduction of new aspects. Existing aspects will get tuned or enhanced in varying ways.”

When told by another user that it shouldn’t be ruled out, Yanes replied, “It’s ruled out. Building aspects takes a considerable amount of time and resources that wouldn’t be viable for the team for a while. We believe we can address the feedback without needing to do that.”

Tough luck for those miffed with the air Aspects clashing with the rest of the class. At the very least, one hopes that Scorch stacks and Ignites are looked at since these are major pillars of the Solar 3.0 rework. Stay tuned for further updates as the season rolls on.

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted is currently live, adding new activities aboard a haunted version of the Leviathan. For more details, check out the launch trailer here. You can also read up on the various patch notes here.
