Destiny 2 Leviathan

If you’re bored with Bungie’s end-game content for Destiny 2 and were eagerly anticipating the Prestige mode for the Leviathan raid, you’ll need to wait. Community manager Cozmo has announced on the official forums that Prestige mode has been delayed due to an “exploit” that was encountered.

Now, instead of launching on October 10th at 10 AM PST, the Prestige Leviathan raid will be out on October 18th, 10 AM PST. Apparently, the status of “world first” was important to Bungie above all else. “It’s important to us that the team who earns World First status doesn’t have their legacy tarnished by doubt, skepticism, or uncertainty.”

Which is funny when you consider that Slayerage, whose team The Legend Himself achieved world’s first completion for the normal Leviathan raid, recently posted on Reddit about the lackluster end-game. One of the more noteworthy quotes was how, “Replayability being crippled into nothingness has utterly destroyed the social aspect of the game for me. My friends do not play and do not want to play anymore. It is very sad to see.”

Granted, this probably doesn’t mean the clan won’t be present to take a crack at the raid’s Prestige mode. But it’s still interesting to see Bungie offer next to no comment on the end-game issues or hardcore players losing interest. That the Prestige Leviathan raid won’t offer an increase in Power level doesn’t help either.
