Destiny 2

Destiny 2’s release date is getting closer, and as a result, Bungie are releasing more and more info on the game. IGN recently conducted an interview with Bungie, where they asked questions that were sent in by fans, and the developers gave some interesting information on the game. The question was posed whether properties like resilience, agility and recovery attached to armour now, whether the armour’s in-game visual look would reflect the boosts that were attached to it.

Destiny 2’s game director Luke Smith was the one who answered the question, and he confirmed that that would indeed be the case. For instance, if a piece of armour looks thick and resilient, it will probably fall under the Heavy Armour category, while armour that promotes agility will be part of Light Armour.

“With each piece of armour, the design team considered its visuals before assigning stats to it,” Smith said. “For instance, armor that looks thick and defensive armor is assigned the Heavy designation, which prioritizes Resilience and Recovery. Our goal with Resilience, Recovery, and Mobility is that these are stats players can feel while they are playing, e.g., a High Mobility Warlock running a Lightweight weapon is going to zoom around the battlefield more than a Warlock who has prioritized Resilience or Recovery.  Adding additional Resilience, Recovery, or Mobility to a piece of armor is just one use for the much-discussed mod slot on armor in Destiny 2.”

Destiny 2 launches on September 6 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
