Destiny 2 Patches Faction Rally Token Exploit, Throttles All Lost Sector Chests

Want to chain together Lost Sector completions? You'll need to slow down a bit.

Destiny 2 Faction Rally

When Destiny 2’s Faction Rally arrived, players continuously came up with ways to exploit the system and gather hundreds of Tokens in an hour. The most recent exploit was focused on a particular Lost Sector in the EDZ called The Weep. Now, with Faction Rally having returned, Bungie have notified fans of a patch for the exploit so you can no longer exploit The Weep for hundreds of Tokens an hour.

The problem is that Bungie didn’t patch the exploit that made farming The Weep possible. Instead, it added a rewards lockout for all Lost Sectors. As Bungie’s dmg04 has revealed on the official forums, “Right now if a player opens more than 2 Chests in a 10 minute period they will not receive additional rewards from Lost Sector chests for 10 minutes. This does not prevent players from completing milestones related to Lost Sector chests.”

Of course, the real problem is that if players attempt to legitimately speed run through Lost Sectors for the chests, they’ll receive no Tokens if the 10 minute lockout period is active. You can reset this by quitting the game and logging back in, which has already spurred all manner of ribbing from the community.

What are your thoughts on this change to Faction Rally Token farming? Let us know in the comments.
