Alongside the release of the launch trailer for Destiny 2: Lightfall, Bungie editorial lead Brian Ekberg has also taken to the PlayStation Blog to talk about some of the new quality of life features coming to Destiny 2 with its newest expansion.

With Lightfall, the armor mod system in Destiny 2 is getting a major overhaul. Building on the last few updates to how the mods system works, Destiny 2 players will now be able to better engage with Lightfall‘s buildcrafting system, which includes retiring the old mod energy system, and Artifact mods becoming passive perks.

Speaking of mods, players will now also be able to customise their builds further with a new interface. With the new system, players will be able to make changes to their mods through a new all-in-one screen that shows all mods and armor pieces at once, allowing players to quickly swap out mods without having to check individual armor slots.

Loadouts are another major feature coming to Destiny 2 with Lightfall, allowing players to set up complete armor, weapons, mods, and subclasses in individual loadouts that can be swapped between with a simple click of a button.

A new progression system is coming to Destiny 2 in the form of Guardian Ranks. These new ranks are meant to act as a visual shorthand to gauge the experience and skill levels of other Guardians. Players can progress through the ranks through the completion of activities, with harder content featuring exclusive Guardian Ranks.

Players will now also be able to commend each other after an activity. This means that players can also accrue commendation points by being helpful team mates and skilled players.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 28.
