With Guardian Games coming to a close this past Tuesday, Bungie’s Destiny 2 received a brand new quest in “The Lie.” Previous datamining indicates that this yields the infamous Felwinter’s Lie shotgun as a reward. However, it’s a community event that requires players to partake in Seraph Tower Public Events.
Instead of number of Public Events, each Guardian successfully completing a Seraph Tower event is counted towards progress. However, the total number required is 9,000,000 million and given the activity’s lack of matchmaking (you need to get lucky with instances), enthusiasm was shot. To that, Bungie has deployed a hotfix to adjust progression for “The Lie”. It now has a 5x multiplier which goes up to 10x on weekends.
Not bad but what about the difficulty of the event? Champions now have reduced Power level and progression for the event has been “slightly tuned.” Whether this counteracts players being unable to actually matchmake with others to complete the event remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
