Destiny 2: Forsaken – Bungie Is Tweaking How Players Gear Up

Going back to the good old days of Destiny 1.

Destiny 2 Forsaken

Forsaken looks like Bungie’s crack at fixing a disappointing game- they’re overhauling and improving a lot of stuff, and in their weekly update, they’ve now given an update on the changes that the the upcoming DLC will be bringing to Destiny 2’s gear power levels as well.

Remember the good old days of the original Destiny, when hitting the power level cap for gear was actually something of a rarity (in many cases)? That was not the case when Destiny 2 launched last year, and though Bungie promised that Warmind would be fixing that issue, it remained, for the most part, unfixed. It seems, however, like Forsaken might indeed be fixing that issue, at least based on what Bungie are saying.

What this means is that Forsaken will give you higher power reward based on the difficulty of what you’re doing. The more difficult the task that you’ve accomplished, the higher the rewards will be. If your power level is significantly below the recommended power level of a raid, and you complete that raid, you will get suitably better rewards.

Exotic gear and weapons will now also always be dished out at a level that is higher, or at least equivalent, to yours. The same is also true for powerful gear, which will never come in at a level lower than your overall average power level. Meanwhile, powerful gear will now always give at least some boosts to one piece of your gear.

Destiny 2: Forsaken drops on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 4. Lots of new information has been released on the upcoming expansion in the last few weeks, from Supers, to ammo changes, to Year 2 weapons vending, so be sure to check it all out.
