Destiny 2 DLC Stream Canceled By Bungie; Will Now Be Directly Addressing Player Feedback In Blog Post

Things have come to a head.

Destiny 2 has made its fanbase very unhappy. Everything, from the utter paucity of content, to the nerfing of the exotics, to the raid, to the streamlining of mechanics removing any reason to play, to the lack of an end game, to the changes made to the PvP, everything has ended up alienating the hardcore Destiny fans who stuck with the franchise over the last three years. In many ways, they contend, Destiny 2 is a step back from everything that Destiny had managed to accrue over multiple expansion packs following the launch of the original Destiny back in 2014.

It hasn’t helped that Bungie has been totally tone deaf to fan feedback. In an era where developers have taken to engaging and interacting with players directly, Bungie has grown more aloof, and continued to stick to its own messaging that does nothing to allay player concerns or fears.

However, especially in the wake of the XP scandal for Destiny 2, where it was found that Bungie was throttling XP gains for players, it seems like things have come to a head- such a head, in fact, that Bungie has canceled the live stream it was going to hold for Curse of Osiris, the first planned expansion for Destiny 2, and instead announced a series of blogs which will all be delivering direct responses to player feedback and criticism.

“We are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2,Bungie said. “You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks.”

The first blog post will appear tomorrow, on Wednesday- let’s see how well Bungie manages to alleviate fan concerns. Destiny 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
