Destiny 1 Will Be Supported Even After Destiny 2 Launch, Bungie Says

But do you believe them?

Responding to concerns from a lot of fans about the upcoming Destiny 2, and what it might mean for the future of the first game, Bungie community manager David “DeeJ” Dague has emphatically stated in an interview with IGN that the first Destiny game will be supported even after the second one launches.

“Our plan is to continue to support Destiny 1 for the foreseeable future. Destiny 1 will still be there. So if somebody wants to have a throwback night and go back and revisit the things that they loved about Destiny, they can,” he said.

On the one hand, I want to believe him… on the other hand, this is the same company that forced obsolescence upon players who didn’t even keep up with the new expansions for the game that Bungie was churning out. I am sure that the original Destiny will still be supported- but can we be sure it will be supported in any meaningful capacity?
