Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – David Hayter Details Play Styles, Battle Damage in New Video

Producer Noriaki Okamura also invites players to judge whether the new team is suitable for "the job of keeping Metal Gear going."

After dropping a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at the Xbox Games Showcase, Konami’s latest episode of the Legacy Series is now available. It sees David Hayter, voice actor for Solid Snake and Naked Snake, diving into the remake’s changes and enhancements before sitting down with producer Noriaki Okamura. Check it out below.

Many of these changes were revealed on the game’s official website, from the updated battle damage system, where injuries leave permanent scars, to the new play styles and cameras. The attention to detail and visual improvements from Unreal Engine 5 are also extensively showcased. However, the story, characters and voice acting are all faithful to the original. Even the cutscenes are shot-for-shot recreations.

Interestingly, Okamura says he wants “the players to be able to judge for themselves whether this new team is right for the job of keeping Metal Gear going.” A potential hint for things to come? Time will tell.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details, especially with an extended gameplay look coming on June 11th via the Official Xbox Podcast.
