Elden Ring Won’t be at Gamescom, Maybe at The Game Awards – Rumor

FromSoftware's upcoming action RPG continues to elude the general public.

The wait for new details on FromSoftware’s Elden Ring continues. Developed with Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin, the fantasy action RPG was pegged to appear at the Xbox Games Showcase. That didn’t happen but perhaps Gamescom 2020 could provide some relief? As it turns out, that’s also a no-go.

When asked on Twitter about which game has a higher possibility of appearing at Gamescom – Bakugan or Elden Ring – VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb replied, “Bakugan.” This same response was provided when asked about Elden Ring’s possible appearance during the Xbox Series X digital showcase. However, on the GamesBeat Decides 157 video from July 24th, Grubb recently commented, “I don’t think we’ll get Elden Ring news this year with the possible exception of The Game Awards.”

After Gamescom, the Tokyo Game Show will be taking place, also in a digital format, this September. So at the very least, it seems that it won’t appear there either. Take things with a grain of salt as usual – Bandai Namco and FromSoftware could suddenly release a teaser or new image out of nowhere. But at this rate, we may have to wait until next year for any solid new details, much less a release date. Stay tuned in the meantime.

Elden Ring is in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
