Bandai Namco has released a brand new trailer for the highly anticipated return of its popular flight sim/combat series Ace Combat. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown launches next year, and the new trailer for the game shows us where the story will be going in this new game.

Returning to the Strangereal universe, Ace Combat 7 will continue the series’ stories of political conflict and turmoil- although exactly how well it manages to pull it off remains to be seen, given that there have been some recent installments in the series that have ended up angering or alienating long time fans of the franchise.

Originally announced as a PS4 exclusive, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is set to launch on PS4, and also on Xbox One and PC in addition; it will also have some degree of PlayStation VR compatibility, though sadly it seems as though the entire game may not be playable in VR, as many wanted and expected. Check out the new trailer for the game for yourself below.
